Wednesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 13 days and counting 'til The 2007 Song Parody Contest presented by ABC 13 and ESPN Radio ... and the guys are looking forward to having Mac McDonald back on the air to congratulate him on his 8-10 win prediction for UVA at the beginning of the year. R&R also talked at length about Sean Glennon, and how he is the easy choice to be THE guy for VT at QB, after a tremendous performance against Georgia Tech.
Wes checked in with a History Moment dating back to last year when he had to play in the Play in Round of the Song Parody Contest. But after his big win ... he will never have to do it again. R&R then spoke with Hokies QB Sean Glennon who talked about the support he received from other folks including Tom Brady after being benched in favor of Tyrod Taylor. Glennon also said that he expects the Tech coaching staff to use both QB's the rest of the way ... depending on different game situations and opponents.
Current (Former???) Sportsline member Danny Boy checked in after being baited by R&R. Said he wasn't sure whether or not he was planning on participating in the upcoming Song Parody Contest despite having already committed to it ... by way of finishing dead last in his Sportsline Cup golf Match. Rich thinks he will come through ... Larry thinks he bails.
In hour 2 after promoting The Sportsline Hits the Links Golf Deals, Mac McDonald voice of the Cavaliers dropped by the show. Mac seemed a little disappointed that it has been awhile since his last appearance on the show ... but nevertheless was please at the kudos and credit he received for his gutsy pick of a big year for the Cavs. Mac talked about the fact that there was a little luck involved in the Cavs great run ... but there always is. McDonald also got into one of UVA's big disadvantages in terms of recruiting in that they are not permitted January admissions. He explained in detail why this really hurts UVA and expects it to change in 2011. Mac didn't want to look past Miami to the VT game ... but Rich and Larry have a knack for getting folks to do that. He is not looking forward to going to Miami and calling the game from the roof ... and Mac took a few shots at Bill Roth who was ungrateful for the Pizza and Beer provided by McDonald late one night when they were setting up for a broadcast. Can't wait to have these two on the show again together.
