Sean Taylor Dies - Jim Ducibella & Jason Cole, Plus Groh wins Coach of the Year
Tuesday, 27 November 2007
Tuesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... much more on the death of Redskins Safety Sean Taylor and the bizarre circumstances surrounding the break in and shooting.  Rich and Larry talk about how it seems unlikely that this is a random act and that Sean Taylor clearly seems to have been targeted.  Jim Ducibella of the Virginian Pilot dropped by once again and offered up a little bit more of a timeline and some of the comments that had been made earlier in the day by the Redskins, including the news that Daniel Snyder planned on flying the whole organization down to his memorial service early next week ... even though the Skins will play on Sunday and next Thursday.

R&R spent more time talking about the life and death of Sean Taylor ... including his past run-ins with the law and how all indications are that upon the birth of his daughter 18 months ago, Sean had completely turned his life around and was in the process of growing up and maturing into a responsible adult.  Larry very much felt that this could be a scenario in which a former gang member may have been out to get Sean for trying to leave that life behind.  Kurt from Lynchburg called in and agreed with what much of R&R were talking about, including how difficult it is to leave that lifestyle.

Double R and the Legend switched gears to begin hour 2 and congratulated UVa fans on the contract extension for Al Groh.  Groh also was named the Coach of the Year in the ACC today, and made the comment that it was a team award, and the one that the Cavs would have to settle for since they will not be earning a conference or division championship this year.

After a quick college hoops update with UVA rolling over Northwestern in the ACC - Big 10 Challenge ... Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports dropped by for a few minutes live from Miami at Sean Taylor's dad's house.  Not a whole lot new unfortunately, but Cole is on the case and hopes to use his contacts in the Miami area to get to the bottom of the situation.
