Friday, 02 November 2007
Friday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 18 days and counting 'til The 2007 Song Parody Contest presented by ABC 13 and ESPN Radio ... big props to Sean Glennon who had a huge night last night as the Hokies beatdown Georgia Tech, making a statement bouncing back in such tremendous fashion after the tough loss last Thursday night to BC.  Also, R&R announced that Jamie Minnix will be returning to the 2007 SPC for the tenth straight year.  He is the only contestant to participate each and every year in the Song Parody Contest.

Aaron McFarling of the Roaonke Times dropped by the show on his way back from Atlanta to talk about the Hokies impressive win.  He noticed the distinct difference in Back-Up Sean Glennon, who showed up last night ... vs. Starter Sean Glennon who earned a seat on the bench.  McFarling believes that right now, Glennon gives the Hokies the best chance to win, and with an ACC Championship on the line and a possible BCS Bowl berth as well ... he needs to be the guy in Blacksburg.  Rich also had some fun with one of the other passengers in McFarling's vehicle making the trip home ... as he pointed out to Mark Berman that he got the injury info off ESPNinVA.com, the website that Berman had bashed on the show just a few weeks ago.

Wes checked in with a History Moment flashing back 7 years to Rich's final show prior to getting married.  That led to the discussion about Rich's mother-in-law being in town and her thoughts on Rich's oldest son Ryan using inappropriate language ... which Double R blames on his wife.

Once again no Fantasy Friday as the Hokies playing on a Thursday Night trumps Fantasy Friday ... especially since Blueberry once again could not come through on his promise of getting Erin Andrews back on the show after Thursday nights broadcast.  Jim Grobe, HC of the Deamon Deacons checked in to preview Wake's big game with UVA.  Grobe talked about preparing for UVA almost as if they are not even a conference opponent since the two teams have not played in several years.  Grobe said that he feels his team is playing as good as they have all season, and that while the ACC looked a little weak early ... the strenght of the conference has been demonstrated lately with all of the quality teams beating up on each other in conference play.

R&R wrapped up the show talking some Fantasy football with Dan Grogan and making their picks for Pigskin Pick'em.  Rich likes UVa to knock off Wake at home ... while the Legend has the Cavs losing out and ..."Now What?"
