Chris Meyers, Moral Victories and Bluetooth's Verbal Slip-up
Wednesday, 25 October 2006

Mike Burnup of the VT Radio Network dropped by the show to preview the upcoming Thursday night game in Blacksburg between the Hokies and the Clemson Tigers.  Burnup said that he thought that QB Sean Glennon was playing about as well as he can play . . . and said that we will be seeing much more of Ike Whitaker.

Also on Wednesday's Sportsline . . . Chris Meyers of FOX Sports talked a little baseball with R & R, live from St. Louis at the World Series.  Meyers said that weather could be a big factor for the remainder of the series, with lots of rain in the forecast as well as cold temperatures.  Meyers also talked at length about the substance that was on Kenny Rogers hand in game 2 . . . and said he was shocked at the lack of fallout and coverage it has gotten . . . or not gotten as the case might be.

Wednesday's Sportsline also included more Hokie talkas Rich made some comments that were not only surprising to Larry . . . but also to Double R himself.  Rich, not a big believer in Clemson as one of the elite teams in college football, made the statement that if the Hokies are able to keep it close and wind up losing say 31-27, that they should be pleased that their offense is starting to kick in.  Moral victories are not something that Rich believes in at all . . . plus he was a little off his game all evening . . . so he decided to withhold his final pick until Thursday evening.  Larry on the other hand was adamant that Tech should expect to win this game and that anything short of a victory would be a major disappointment.  He also said that he expects the Hokies to by amped up and ready to go, and come out and play with the passion and intensity we are used to seeing from the Hokies on Thursday night games at Lane Stadium.  After all that, the Legend still would not pick the Hokies to win the game.

Finally on Wednesday, R & R played the winning song by Jeff "The Boss" Maxwell from last year's song parody contest.  Also, Jerod "Bluetooth" Brooks once again guaranteed that he would deliver an interview with ESPN'S Erin Andrews within the next week on the show.  Jerod also got a little carried away, saying he wouldn't be surprised if Rich was his dad.  Huh?  That's what Bluetooth was saying when he realized what had just come out of his mouth.
