Today on the show, lots of NFL talk as the Redskins come away with a big win over Jacksonville, and there were some other suprising games and results for the "premiere" teams in the league. Rich reiterated his dislike for parity in the NFL, even though he did concede to Larry that its not quite as bad as it was just a few years ago, when there was that run of several consecutive years when the Superbowl teams did not even make the playoffs the following season. Jim Ducibella, Redskins writer for The Virginian Pilot told The Sportsline that he thinks the Skins are finally getting into the flow and expects the offense to continue producing much better than in the first few games. Plenty of college football on Monday's show as well, as the Hokies went down early in disappointing fashion at home against Georgia Tech. Outplayed in nearly every aspect of the game, Hokie fans once again were displeased and are beginning to show their frustration with years team. UVA routed Dook, although as Larry was quick to point out, its one of the few times in recent history that you can point to Dook acutally beating themselves, rather than just getting drilled by a better opponent. Rich observed that Coach Groh must really be feeling down about this team, as the Cavs took the opportunity to pile on Dook with a late touchdown rather than simply running out the clock. The Sportsline also continued its trend of catching up live at the stadium prior to Monday Night Football.
