YANKEES LOSE . . . THAAAAAAAAAAA Yankees lose. The Tigers take game 2 from the Yankees in the ALDS and Larry is back into baseball after over a month-long hiatus since his beloved BoSox took themselves out of playoff contention back in August. The only trouble for the Legend is that now that he has that dreaded four letter word: H-O-P-E, once the Yankees win, he will be crushed and devastated again. Well, at least that will be fun for Rich and the listeners. Sam Huff, Hall of Fame Linebacker, and member of the Redskins broadcast crew joined Double R and the Legend once again on The Sportsline. Sam is always good for an honest opinion or two, not to mention some great stories from back in his playing days. Today Huff told Rich and Larry about how Albert Haynesworth's face stomp was somewhat common back in his day. The only difference according to Huff, is that back then, players would sharpen their aluminum spikes before executing the stomp. Huff also talked about how all the rules changes in recent history have favored the offense and he reminisced about a big clothesline to Frank Gifford, which he thought might have actually killed Gifford.
Ken
Tysiac of the Charlotte Observer joined us live from Carter-Finley
Stadium down in Raleigh just prior to kickoff of the big FSU - NC State
game. Ken pointed out the great track record that NCSU Coach
Chuck Amato has had against his mentor Bobby Bowden and expected
another close game in a great atmoshpere down in Raleigh. |
