Tuesday, 16 October 2007
Tuesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 35 days and counting 'til The 2007 Song Parody Contest ... the guys announce the day and location of the 2007 Song Parody Contest, once again to be held at Cattle Annie's in Lynchburg on Tuesday November 20th.  Tonite is also game 4 of the ALCS and R&R join the rest of the world in debating the logic of the Red Sox starting Tim Wakefield in place of Josh Beckett.

Speaking of the ALCS, Fox Sports Chris Meyers checks in with the guys live from Cleveland.  Meyers likes the Indians as he feels they have the momentum working for them, although he will not of course count out the Sox.  Meyers, like all of us is very impressed with the Rockies run to the WS, and feels that they can win despite a lack of firepower on the mound.  Meyers also touched on the chase for the NEXTEL Cup and how he thinks Nascar should shorten the season and not compete against football.

UVA Linebacker Clint Sintim dropped by to talk about the amazing run the Cavs are on, 6-0 since that season opening loss to Wyoming.  Sintim said that the win down in Chapel Hill was big for the Cavs and that this team is filled with different people stepping up to make big plays in big situations.  He also agreed with Double R that the identity of this team is developing into them winning ugly ... but finding a way to win.  R&R wrapped up the half hour making fun of Slappy's miserable failure in the Pigskin Pick'em ... again.

Larry Weisman of the USA Today dropped by the show to talk some NFL.  He started out ripping the Cowboys for the trash talk coming out of big D AFTER the Patsies handed them a beatdown for all the world to see.  Weisman raved about the Patriots ... blah, blah, blah and feels that the Saints are not out of the mix yet.   SL Historian Wesley checked in looking back several years to one of the guys great contests ... the scavenger hunt for tickets to Martinsville.

Rich and Larry touched on Saturday's game in College Park ... figuring that this is probably where the Cavs run comes to an end.  Also, Stephen Berry is heading to California for the big race of the Busch Grand National series.  Berry also drives the Liberty University car for Stacy Compton and Turn One Racing.
