Mike Burnop, Pete Cronan & Dan Beyer as the Preview of VT-BC Continues...
Wednesday, 24 October 2007
Wednesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... 27 days and counting 'til The 2007 Song Parody Contest ... lots of Hokie-BC talk today with some World Series mixed in.  Rich admits that he will not watch the WS until Colorado has won 3 games.  At that point, he will be interested enough to check it out.  Pigskin Pick'em is up and running and the defending champ from 2006 Chip Hughes has once again qualified for the Finals.  Also, Sportsline Historian Wes checks in with a History Moment looking back to 2005 when Coach Groh "called in sick" and took the night off from his coach's show after a brutal defeat down in Chapel Hill.

Mike Burnop, color analyst for the VT Radio Network dropped by to shed some light on Thursday Night's game against BC.  Burnop said that Tyrod Taylor will be a game time decision, but would be shocked if he is able to play.  Burnop said Coach Beamer feels that it is going to be an extremely physical game and Taylor would need to be near 100 percent to see any action.  Burnop feels that VT and whoever starts at QB for the Hokies will need to be able to run the ball to be successful and the O-Line must step up and play well.

Pete Cronan, color analyst for the BC Radio Network also dropped by tonite's show and talked about the coaching change at BC and the positive results so far.  He said many folks up in Boston felt that coach O'brien had taken the Eagles as far as he could ... although BC is probably not the place where their football team will be in the mix for conference and national championships on a regular basis because of their high academic standards.  R&R also play a clip of BC coach Jeff Jagodzinski mocked a question about playing at Lane Stadium at Night.  Pretty funny.

Dan Beyer of Fox Sports Radio checked in from Boston and game 1 of the World Series.  Rich and Larry had some fun talking about the food and atmosphere and fans of both the Rockies and the RedSox.  Beyer picke the RedSox to win in 6 ... said too much Josh Beckett for the Rockies to hang this year.

R&R wrapped up the show talking more about the comments of Jagodzinski.  Larry feels that he is a cocky coach, who is taking the atmosphere at Lane Stadium too lightly and that his team will suffer Thursday Night.  Rich however, felt that Jagodzinski was just fed up with the question and trying to get the point across that BC can't worry about the crowd and the atmosphere ... and just needs to concentrate on playing football.
