Thursday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... its all about the
Hokies and the Tigers this weekend in the Commonwealth and in the ACC.
More on that to come later, but right off the bat Rich and Larry check
in with Jim Corbett of the USA Today to talk some NFL football. The
big surprise is of course the struggles of the Chargers under Norv
Turner ... as well as the disappointing start of the Bears. Corbett
thinks the Seahawks may be getting overlooked right now, and also
thinks the Skins will bounce back nicely against the Lions. Tommy Bowden, Head Coach of the Clemson Tigers checks in to preview the big game this weekend. Two great Defenses, he hopes that his Tigers can get their running game going after being shutdown last week against Georgia Tech. Bowden also pointed out his teams lack of success against the Hokies and Frank Beamer, and is hoping his luck will change. Mariner's Landing joins the growing list of golf courses across VA to offer discounts on sportslineradio.com. Rich and Larry also talk some baseball, including Lou Pinella's meltdown. Hour 2 features a lot of Hokie talk, mostly centered around all of the questions surrounding this team right now. Defense and special teams have really been helping the offense out against the weak opponents the Hokies have played other than LSU ... and the D was really exposed down at Baton Rouge, and has a bad taste in its mouth and feels it has something to prove. The Yankees have lost their lead in game one of the ALDS ... and Darnell checks in, and wants to get in on the next contest ... whatever it is. Phil Kornblut of the SC News Network checks in live prior to the SC Kentucky game on Thursday Night Football. Phil says that Spurrier is a great guy and a great guy to cover. Is really turning around the culture down in Columbia and Kornblut thinks SC wins tonite. He also takes Clemson to knock off Tech in what he feels will be a low scoring defensive struggle. |
