Today was another fun show as Rich and Larry let the listeners have
their say when it came to the erroneous reports of TO's attempted
suicide. You knew these reports weren't true, because if TO were going
to take himself out, he would do it in grand fashion . . . not just
popping a few pills at home. So the phones were opened up and The
Sportsline listeners revealed exactly how they thought TO would
do. There were some good ideas, some wierd ideas and some totally
impossible ideas ... like freezing himself in the golden goop . . . ala
Hans Solo. One listener thought he would catch a TD pass, pull a
noose out of his sock and hang himself from the goalpost. Another
thought bungee jumping from a helicopter and ricocheting back up into
the helicopters blades would do the trick. In the end the winner
was Mike from Lynchburg, who thought he might hop in a white Bronco,
get involved in a nationally publicized high speed chase with CHiPs
(Jon and Ponch?) and end it all by taking the plunge off the Golden
Gate Bridge for all to see. Kinda sounds like TO style doesn't
it?
Also on todays show, Justin Harper for the VT Hokies dropped by.
He talked about the challenge that lies ahead for Tech's offense,
facing the high powered blitzing defense of the Georgia Tech Yellow
Jackets on Saturday. Harper also said that he and his teammates
don't feel let down or disappointed in Josh Morgan or Chris Ellis, who
will miss the game due to the suspension for their arrests this past
weekend. Harper said that the rest of the Hokies support Morgan
and Ellis, realizing that within a family people make mistakes and the
rest of the team needs to stand by them.
Finally, Adam Schefter of the NFL Network joined Rich and Larry today.
He talked about the whole TO saga, as well as some other big
stories in the NFL. Adam says Giants fans need to be worried
because he thinks Tom Coughlin is losing the team. Adam thinks
that Dante Culpepper and the Dolphins are and will be the biggest
disappointment of the season and said that in his opinion the Saints
will be able to maintain their momentum and make a playoff run.
