Barry Booker, Jason Cole, The Shoutout vs. The Coach Gillen & VT QB Talk |

Wednesday, 05 September 2007 |
Wednesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... after a quick preview of what's coming up the rest of the week, R&R dive right into the Sean Glennon - Tyrod Taylor developing QB controversy. Larry wants Glennon out and never thought he should have even had the opportunity to start this season. Transferring is the only thing Sean Glennon could do that would make the Legend happy. Rich still feels that Glennon is young and needs to be given an opportunity to lead the Hokies. Considering the fact that true freshman playing QB in college football does not usually work out very well for obvious reasons, Double R feels Glennon gives the Hokies the best chance to have an undefeated season, but the first loss will probably be the last start for Sean. Plus Wes checked in with This Day in Sportsline History.
Time for Elite 8 action in PromoMania. The DHB took on The Shepherd and then in a barnburner, The ShoutOut hooked up with The Coach Gillen.
Barry Booker, DL for the Hokies dropped by for a few minutes and talked about the emotion of the season opener against ECU and how much that emotion will effect the team throughout the year. Plus Booker talked about the upcoming challenge against LSU, and how facing another top notch defense motivates the Tech D to play at an even higher level.
R&R wrapped up the show talking with Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports. After having some fun talking with the guys about "making it rain" ... Jason buckled down and talked some football, previewing the upcoming season. Cole said that it is definitely all about the AFC, which is clearly the top conference again this year. He also felt that the Eagles would have a big year, and that Donovan McNabb will be the reason that Philly wins the NFC.
