Tuesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... after a day off to celebrate all of their hard work all year, the gang is back today to talk some football. UVa, brutal showing against Wyoming has fans up in arms after promises of a better year, while the Hokies stuggle past ECU on a very emotional day at Lane Stadium in which the victims of the April shooting tragedy were honored. Rich and Larry talked about the emotions at Lane Stadium and how ESPN's coverage didn't quite do it justice. Chris Cook, DB for the Cavaliers dropped by the show to try and explain exactly what happened in Wyoming as the Cowboys dominated UVa. Chris didn't really have many answers for the guys as he was clearly disappointed with the teams performance and he tried to say the right things about sticking together as a unit ... and bouncing back for the Dook game this weekend. R&R also took some calls ... mainly from UVA fans ... who couldn't have been more angry and frustrated with the brutal loss out west. And of course ... almost all of the anger and blame was directed at the leader of the tribe, Al Groh. Erin Andrews of ESPN kicked off hour number 2 of the show as she joined Rich and Larry to talk more about the Hokies season opener. Erin talked at length about the emotions that the players had and that were flowing through Lane Stadium as the victims of the tragedy were remembered prior to the game. She also feels that the emotion is being underplayed by the coaches and players in Blacksburg ... and could very well effect the Hokies all season long. UVa fan Tim checked in from his new digs in Alabama as he was listening to the show online, and he couldn't have been more pissed off about the Cavs pitiful performance. He predicted a 2-10 record for UVa with the only sure wins being against Dook and Middle Tennessee State. R&R also talked with some Hokie fans ... who of course are big believers in Al Groh ... began wondering when we might see Tyrod Taylor at QB for Tech. |
