Gerry DiNardo, Bud Foster, TJ Yates & Dave Glenn
Thursday, 13 September 2007
Thursday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... almost all college football on todays show as the guys get ready for this weekend, as well as tonites WVU - Maryland game.  Plus Pigskin Pick'em is revealed sort of in the opening segment, prior to R&R being joined by former LSU coach and color analyst for the Big Ten Network, Gerry DiNardo.  DiNardo called the Michigan Notre Dame game the biggest game in the history of college football between 0-2 teams, and he is probably right!  He also touched on the possibility that the big 10 is down this year, and that JoePa and the Nittnay Lions have an outstanding chance to win the conference.

Bud Foster, Defensive Coordinator of the Virginia Tech Hokies was up next on the show ... and while very disappointed in his D's performance against LSU, Foster pointed out that "these things happen" and while it hasn't happened at Tech in a very long time, he actually feels that it could be a good thing for the Hokies, to force them to re-evaluate things and refocus their efforts.

R&R also cover some headlines including Greg Oden being out for the year, and the FedEx Cup in golf needing to be reworked so that you need to play in all 4 events to have a chance to win the cup.  Oh yeah ... Rory Sabbatini needs to shut the hell up.

TJ Yates, QB for the Tarheels was up next on the show and he talked about the new attitude that Butch Davis has brought to Chapel Hill and how the fans as well as the players are excited about football again at UNC.  Yates also touched on the wealth of talent the Tarheels have at receiver and how it makes his job as a QB easier knowing that they will help him out and make big plays.  R&R also get into Pigskin Pick'em a little bit more, and talk about the Get-a-Way to Wild Dunes that is on the line.

Dave Glenn of The ACC Sports Journal, as well as 850 The Buzz down in Raleigh drops by to talk a little ACC Football as the Terps are in action tonite against 5th ranked West Virginia.  Glenn said that Marylands QB could be a big key to the game tonite, as he hasn't lived up to the hype, and he had better if Maryland is going to keep up with White, Slaton and the WVU offense.  Glenn also touched on the possibility of Jim Grobe replacing Al Groh at UVa next year, and previewed the UVA-UNC game as strength against strength (UVA D vs. UNC O) and weakness against weakness.
