PromoMania 2007 Championship presented by Golf at Wintergreen Resort & Stacy Compton
Wednesday, 19 September 2007
Wednesday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... the news broke that Earnhardt Jr. will be switching to the number 88 and more on that later in the show.  After 2 months, we have finally reached the finals of PromoMania and R&R will provide complete coverage of the matchup.  The Pregame show starts with Rich and Larry commenting about each contestants road to the finals and some of the upsets that they each pulled off ... both promos knocking off 1 seeds back to back to get here.

Everyone's favorite degenerate, Darnell graced us with his own special rendition of the James Brown classic, "Living in America" and stuck around while Rich and Larry interviewed 2 of the key participants in each of the promos competing tonite.  "Coach Groh" took some time out from his preparation for Georgia Tech on Saturday to tell R&R that he is looking to win the big one tonite!  The Shepherd also dropped by the show, and stated that while surprised that this is the one (of his 3 different promos) to make it to the finals, he feels confident that he can take down The Coaches.

After the top of the hour break and at the beginning of hour 2 ... R&R throw it down to ringside as Nasty Nick introduces the two finalists in PromoMania 2007.  A flurry of voting dominates the entire half hour, as some people feel pretty passionately about these two promos.  In the end, it was The Coaches, "Groh and Gillen" doubling up The Shepherd and The Ass Expert to claim their first championship.

Stacy Compton dropped by to talk a little Nascar, specifically about Dale Jr.  Stacy said that Jr. is growing up now, and growing out of that party boy image.  His knew situations and sponsors reflect that change and should wind up making him a whole bunch more money.  Compton also said that the chase is wide open as was demonstrated in the first race ... although he expects someone with some experience to capture the title ... most likely Jeff Gordon.

Finally ... "Coach Groh" R&R caught up with Coach "Groh" in the locker room after he and Coach "Gillen" double teamed The Ass Expert to win their first big game while in Charlottesville.
