Aaron McFarling, Wes Durham, Andre Davis & The Michael Vick Joke Contest
Thursday, 27 September 2007
Thursday on The Sportsline with Rich and Larry ... the guys have tickets to the UVA - Pitt game and are going to give them to the caller with the best Michael Vick joke, later in the show.

Aaron McFarling, columnist for The Roanoke Times checked in to talk some Hokies as they get ready for UNC.  McFarling talked about the struggles of Brandon Ore and the VT offensive line, and when he thinks it might improve.  We also found out that Aaron is a big fan of women's soccer, though he tried to blame watching the Women's World Cup at 5 AM on his young child ... but R&R know better.  The guys comment on Hope Solo, the US goalie's tirade after being benched for the semi-finals against Brazil.

Up next, the Michael Vick joke contest ... but honestly most of the jokes were pretty lame.  Rich and Larry were definitely disappointed with the effort of the callers ... but still gave the tickets away.

Wes Durham, voice of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Atlanta Falcons dropped by the show.  Wes talked about the decision that the Falcons made to let Schaub go and how noone ever could have foreseen the Michael Vick fiasco.  Durham also said that GTech never has any luck in C'Ville and that the Jackets are very banged up right now.

R&R wrapped up the show talking with Andre Davis of the Houston Texans.  Andre had no comment to Larry's question of whether or not Davis had seen any illegal video in his stint with the Patsies ... and Davis also wouldn't dignify Rich's question about Vick dogfighting while at Tech.  He talked about the great chemistry that the team has in Houston, and about making the most of his opportunity.
