Jeff *The Boss* Maxwell

"The Boss" got his nickname not only because he is a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen . . . but also because each year his song parody's a classic Springsteen song . . . and Jeff does them so damn well.

Jeff was the Susan Lucci of the SPC up until 2005 when he finally broke through winning the Elite Division. "The Boss" had received lots of advice beginning back in 1999 as to what he had to do to win the SPC and finally everything came together with "Blacksburg" in 2005 . . . his parody of "The River".

That certainly isn't to say other songs weren't capable of winning. In 2002 "Choke the Chicken" almost walked away with the prize . . . but Luscious Lil cost "The Boss" the title because she felt his lyrics weren't quite 'family friendly'.

"The Boss" finally got his first win in 2005 with his song "Blacksburg" a parody of Springsteen's "The River" in which he hopped the fence pledging his allegiance to the Hokies.  It was a tight contest between Jeff and KB & Ernest, but "The Boss" pulled away in the end after Double R cast his vote for Jeff after receiving a mysterious email from KB.

Jeff came up huge in 2006 with the final performance of the evening bring the house down at Cattle Annie's ... along with the accompanyment of the 5th Street Band.  There was some dispute in the outcome of the final voting as "The Boss" and KB &  Ernest wound up tied ... leaving everyone frustrated and out for a convincing win in 2007.
