THAT'S SOME FINE PICKN' AND SINGN'!!
                                                  2001

Today was a landmark in Sports Line Song Parody Contest history. This day marked the first and only time a "Sing Off' was required to settle a tie in the SPC, because as we all know in 2006 a tie was the official outcome in The Elite division, and the winner of the amature division was simply head and shoulders over everyone else. But today pitted 2 newcomers to the stage, one was a small group of country boys known then as "The Acapella Fellas". The other was an unknown talent, destined for greatness one day with his voice in this very contest. So at the Ale House Restaurant the battle was on, first up were the country boys with a rendition of the hit song from the movie "Brother where art Thou", Second was a nervous young man who had never sang in public before, mainly because everyone told him he sounded like he was ringing the water out of a wet cat when he did. He had chosen an Elvis song. After the dust had settled Rich and larry couldn't decide on a winner, both contestants were told to work a little on their lyrics and come to the radio station in 3 short days, for a winner take all, no holds barred "Sing Off" for a pair of tickets to the UVA VA. Tech. game. You won't believe what happened, and if you want to know just check here in 3 short days. You know it's worth the wait.
