DO YOU KISS YOUR MOTHER WITH THAT MOUTH "COMRADE"??
1999 This show fell on a Monday night and as usual was live from The Ale House Restaurant, and as always Bobby Alvis was trying to get a date, but tonight was a little different, Laura, one of the world famous "Wahoo Girls" was there and was actually seen talking to Bobby, this might not seem strange to you unless you know Bobby, because I have told you before, Bobby lacks what you might call "the social graces". Nothing came of the chance encounter, mainly because after spending some time with Bobby, Laura realized all of the rumors she had heard were true. 2001 Today was the day!! The big sing off between "The Acapella Fellas" and a very talented unknown newcomer toThe Song parody contest. As you all remember from earlier in the week there was a tie between the 2 contestants at The Ale House on Monday. Both were told to work on their songs and come back today for a no holds barred, winner take all sing off. Over the past few days some changes were made to "The Fellas". A new line up of performers was introduced, including 2 of the cutest, most adorable little boys you ever laid your eyes on, but the newcomer did NOT bring any puppies or kittens and was all alone (Strike One). They had changed their name to "The Fans of Constant Sorrow" and added some instruments, the newcomer still just had "The Comrade" playing guitar for him (Strike Two). And when the dust settled Rich and Larry asked for call in votes to help them choose a winner, the newcomers Mother called in to vote for "The Fans" (Strike Three). But the newcomer was not dismayed, he took a humiliating beat down at the hands of 2 little kids and an old man and used it as a spring board to become a future Song Parody Contest winner, and in just 5 short years he would be called "Champion". Who was this newcomer that would one day rise to greatness and take The Song Parody Contest by storm?? It was me, Wes. Sorry if that was a huge disappointment. 2002 We always find out a lot about Sports Line interns the longer they work for the show. Today was no different. During a normal call from Darnell (is that an oxymoron??) the subject of him being able to sing came up, he said he was not a good singer but he could "Rap". Then "The Comrade " spoke up and said he was able to "Beat Box", for those of you who don't know what that is ask your kids, and he proceeded to lay down some fat beats with just his mouth, now since "The Comrade" was a young teen he had been laying down fat beats with just his mouth, usually for 10 dollars down by the docks (Not that there is anything wrong with that). But this was something, unlike most things he tried, he was able to do in an entertaining way. So on top of being a top notch Safty Monitor, he showed he could use his mouth for something more that just blathering on endlessly, or that thing he does down by the docks. |
